New Reader Collection

The Pollard Memorial Library has a collection of materials designed for our basic literacy and ESOL students and their tutors. It is called the New Reader collection and is located on the Second Floor of the library. Students on our waiting list are welcome to borrow materials from this collection with their library card while they wait for a tutor. For more information about our New Reader collection, please visit our Collections page.

Conversation Groups

Literacy Volunteers at the Pollard Memorial Library offers conversation groups for newer speakers of English to connect with native speakers in a safe, interactive setting. Currently, an intermediate/advanced level group is scheduled for most Friday mornings from 10:30 until 12:30 online via Zoom. Another group, particularly for beginners, is planned for fall 2022 and will meet in person.
