Our Mission
The mission of the Friends of the Pollard Memorial Library is to provide financial support for Library programs and services that are not covered by its budget, to help extend the reach of the Library to serve Lowell’s diverse population with access to enrichment, education, and opportunities for life-long learning, and to increase awareness of the Library’s resources and its value to the community.
Thank You lala books!
The used book sale at lala books on February 4 raised close to $100 to benefit the Friends of the Pollard Memorial Library. Every dollar spent at the used book sale was donated to the Friends. Many thanks to all those who made purchases and to lala books for hosting this successful event.
Join the Next Friends Meeting!

The Friends of the Pollard Memorial Library is a volunteer group dedicated to supporting the library and its programs. One of our ongoing efforts is building and sustaining the museum pass program, which is one of the Library’s most popular community services. We also sponsor various other programs at the Library, such as author programs, genealogy workshops, and movie nights. During this period of virtual and distanced events, we are also supporting the Library’s Grab & Go activities. We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and all donations are tax-deductible. For businesses who wish to sponsor activities, please contact us at volunteer@friendsofpml.org.
Our funding comes from membership dues, donations, book sales, bake sales, and other events, as well as from ongoing sales from our book cart (located on the First and Ground floors in the Library next to the circulation desks).
