Our Mission
The mission of the Friends of the Pollard Memorial Library is to provide financial support for Library programs and services that are not covered by its budget, to help extend the reach of the Library to serve Lowell’s diverse population with access to enrichment, education, and opportunities for life-long learning, and to increase awareness of the Library’s resources and its value to the community.
About the Friends
The Friends of the Pollard Memorial Library is a volunteer group dedicated to supporting the library and its programs. One of our ongoing efforts is building and sustaining the museum pass program, which is one of the Library’s most popular community services. The Friends also provides funds for the Library’s Saturday Drop-In Craft kits, Local Artist Series, and other programs and activities as needs and opportunities arise.
We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and all donations are tax-deductible.
Our funding comes from membership dues, donations, book sales, and other events, as well as from ongoing sales from our book carts (located on the First and Ground floors in the Library).
