A Community Storytelling Series
Everyone has a story to tell.
Lowell Stories is a community storytelling series designed to help people craft and share true personal stories in a supportive and welcoming environment. Inspired by the storytelling style of The Moth, the series focuses on live storytelling—where people share real experiences from their lives with an audience.
Through interactive workshops and story slam events, participants will learn how to shape their experiences into engaging narratives and connect with others through the power of storytelling.
Whether you’re completely new to storytelling or simply looking for a creative outlet, this series offers a chance to explore your voice, develop a meaningful story, and share the moments that have shaped your life. You don’t have to be a performer—you just have to have a story.
How the Series Works
The series is organized into three storytelling cycles. Each cycle includes:
• Two 90-minute storytelling workshops where participants develop their stories with guidance and feedback
• A Mini Story Slam where participants can share their stories with the group in a relaxed and supportive setting
What is a Story Slam? A Story Slam is a live storytelling event where participants share short personal stories based on a theme. Stories are told aloud to a supportive audience in a relaxed, community setting.
Participants are welcome to attend a single cycle or join multiple sessions throughout the series.
The program culminates in a final Community Story Slam on September 24, where storytellers from across the series will be invited to share their stories with a larger audience.
No storytelling experience is required.
