Winter Reading Challenge is here to get you through the cold!

The Pollard Memorial Library is happy to announce that we will be offering a special adult only winter challenge, which will be offered for 10 weeks.

We are encouraging all patrons to read for 1000 minutes from January 10 to March 19, 2022. If you aren’t into reading for long periods of time, we do have other activity challenges to get you excited about using library resources. For each activity badge earned, you’ll receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win our Winter Reading Bag of goodies. If you read for 1,000 minutes, you’ll receive an additional 10 raffle chances to win!

We are offering an online component via Beanstack or patrons can download a paper copy or request a paper gameboard at our desks. Online patrons will receive rewards for logging reading time as well as completing badge challenges. For those with the paper card, complete 1 challenge or all of them for your chance to participate in a raffle for prizes of gift cards and library swag.  For those with paper cards, return your game card on or before March 21st to be included in the raffle.

Challenges include rereading a book from your younger years, downloading the Libby app and listening to an eAudiobook or reading an ebook, donating to a worthy cause, and much more!

If you choose to download the Beanstack app, once you are registered, make sure that you click on “Discover Challenges” to find the Adult Winter Reading challenge and see all of the activity badges that you can achieve. Please note that most virtual program options, including our book clubs, are on the Library’s events page.

Patrons are invited to share their experiences via social media and get involved in all of the great virtual opportunities that the library provides. You can also access the game card on this blog – download the paper copy by following this link.  Submission options are flexible this year, so let us know if you have any questions or concerns. For anything related to the Winter Reading Challenge, you can contact Bridget Cooley at 978-674-1548  (please leave a message) or email bcooley@lowelllibrary.org (quickest way to get back to her).
