Read the Rainbow

June is Pride Month, and we have a display of fiction, memoir, and non-fiction books on the first floor to give you the opportunity to read about a variety LGBTQ+ experiences. This is just a sample of the books that we have. How can you find more? We have added a filter in our online catalog that will allow you to view items that feature LGBTQ+ characters and themes. To use this filter, go to the library’s online catalog and use the dropdown menu on the left to select LGBTQ+.
You can then search for the topic or genre of book you would like to read. For example, if you would like to read a mystery that has LGBTQ+ characters, select “Subject” from the second dropdown menu and type “Mysteries” in the search box. After completing the search, you will see the results.
You can also check out the ebooks available in Hoopla and Overdrive or take a look at the books below. They have all been added to the collection within the last year or are coming to the library soon.
The library is currently open for browsing. Masks are optional. If you are not comfortable entering the library, you can request items for curbside pickup during our regular hours (Monday-Thursday 9-9, Friday 9-5, and Saturday 9-5 through June 25). To reserve a book, place a request in the online catalog, fill out a request form, or call the reference desk at 978-674-4121. If you love these books, you can write a review or place them in the “Awesome Box” at the ground floor checkout desk.
