Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

From September 15-October 15, we celebrate the contributions of people of Hispanic descent. To better understand and appreciate the Hispanic experience, we have a display of memoirs, biographies, fiction, and cookbooks in the reference room on the second floor, including a brand-new cookbook on Colombian cuisine and a memoir by Sonia Manzano, who played Maria on Sesame Street.

In addition to books in English by and about people of Hispanic heritage, we also have Spanish language books, CDs and DVDs. You can find the CDs in the drawers in the CD and DVD section. Spanish books and DVD are in the stacks on the Colburn Street side of the first floor.

The library is currently open for browsing. Masks are required in all city buildings. If you are not comfortable entering the library, you can request items for curbside pickup during our regular hours (Monday-Thursday 9-9; Friday and Saturday 9-5). To reserve a book, place a request in the online catalog, fill out a request form, or call the reference desk at 978-674-4121.
