Dr. Teo Pique's Essay "Hope and Resilience in the Midst of War"

Dr. Teo Pique, friend of the Pollard Library and regular member of our Non-Fiction book club wrote a gripping essay on her experience in the Democratic Republic of Congo where she spent five months of 2013 as a humanitarian worker with Doctors Without Borders. The essay was published this past Monday, on Richard Howe, Jr.’s blog and it is worthwhile reading. Click here to read it.

UPDATE: Teo sent along this terribly sad article posted on Tuesday relating to a massacre in Pinga, the village where she did her work. Apparently this happened on the path she would take to and from work each day.Â
