Banned Books Week
In conjunction with the American Library Association’s Banned Books Week, the Pollard Memorial Library will be celebrate Banned Books Week, September 24 –  30. Every year, there are hundreds of known attempts to remove books from bookstores, libraries and schools.  That’s thousands of lost opportunities to explore ideas that fuel understanding. Words have power and access to diverse ideas makes all of us more powerful. Celebrate your freedom to read by checking out a banned book from the Children’s and Young Adult Department’s banned book displays at the library! For more information about banned and challenged books, visit the American Library Association website.
