CALLING ALL READERS
The goal of this event is to collectively read aloud Kerouac’s first novel in one weekend—all 500 pages of it. This should take about 18 hours broken up over two days.
If we each do a little it’s no sweat, right?…like they say, many voices make light work (or something like that).
Each participant would read aloud from a podium for approximately 5-7 minutes. We will have copies of the book available for you to use, or you can bring your own.
Registration is open until March 15. Readers will be notified of their assigned day and time by Friday March 20. We will also accept stand-by readers to fill open spots the day of the event.
Teams of 6-10 people (family, friends, co-workers) can sign up to cover a whole hour of reading. Reserve your hour today! Contact Community Planning Department at 978-674-1542 or sthibodeau@LowellLibrary.org.
To be successful, this event will need many voices and many hands. Staff volunteers get swag and prizes along with the good feeling that comes with helping. For more information about staff volunteering opportunities contact Pollard Library, Community Planning Department at 978-674-1542 or sthibodeau@LowellLibrary.org.
