PML Regular Roger Brunelle's Kerouac Walking Tours featured in today's Sun

Roger Brunelle, a longtime Pollard regular and friend, is featured in The Lowell Sun today in a story by Michael Wurm about Brunelle’s downtown walking tours of Kerouac’s Lowell. As the article notes, the Pollard is a featured stop on the tour “a favorite destination for Kerouac and his older sister, Nin, as they walked from their homes across the Merrimack River to spend hours in the library. “The libraries are like schools — they don’t change from generation to generation,” Brunelle said as he showed us the children’s area on the lower level.”

We’re proud, here at the Pollard, to continue to serve the youth of Lowell as we did young Jack and Nin. We’re very happy to welcome the Kerouac tours.

If you’d like more information on Jack you should check out our Kerouac cabinet in the 2nd floor Reference room. There you’ll find books by and about the King of the Beats. The full text of the Sun article is available here.
