Coding With Minecraft
Last week the children’s department had a special visit from Thi Sarkis from the Rhode Island Computer Museum for a coding program with Minecraft. We learned how to summon lightning bolts with a bow and arrow, build giant rainbows, spawn farm animals and monsters instantly, and much more in the Minecraft world with code! Children were introduced coding concepts so that they could build or “mod” in the game using code based on the Javascript programming language. We had so much fun “modding” our Minecraft world we didn’t want to leave! For more fun summer reading programs at the Pollard Library, check out our children’s event page. Check out more pictures from the event on the children’s page of the library website under “Summer Reading Program 2016.”
